Desire Map workshops and courses: Testimonials
One on one client
“I worked with Kelsey Cleveland to select my core desired feelings, and then set goals based on my core desired feelings. The Desire Map process was inspirational and empowering. From when she first consulted with me and told me, “The primary intention is to feel good,” through my work sessions with her and homework in between, I felt somehow like I was on vacation from my past thinking. The mind shift was powerful once I acknowledged that there is a way to purposefully work on feeling good.
In one on one sessions with additional email support, Kelsey was a caring and careful guide. She had good intuition in relating to my needs and seemed to know what to gently push on a little and what not to touch to make efficient use of our time and keep our primary intention in mind. I enjoyed her focus on the power of language, being kind to ourselves, and how she could relate to me as a parent, professional, and evolving woman. I would highly recommend the one on one Desire Map sessions with Kelsey to help you feel how you want to feel.”
— Heather F.
“I have been looking for ways to change my life to be happier, so this strategy seemed intriguing. Kelsey was lovely and was really skilled at facilitating. She had presence and calmness. The day was great. It built up to our core feelings in a way that seemed necessary–as in, it took all day and it was worth it.”
— Katie Gillespie
“This seminar appealed to me because identifying my core desired feelings sounded like a great first step in finding the right path forward. I felt energized (one of my core desired feelings!) as we worked through the process to identify the feelings that most appealed to us. I liked that it was a small group and included people at different stages in life. Kelsey did a great job guiding us through the process. She was positive, genuine and asked some good questions that helped me refine my list.”
— Theresa Hagerty
Would you recommend this experience to a friend?
“I definitely would. I could see that it was very helpful to the participants who were in transition in their work/family lives.”
— Sue Bosshardt
How the Desire Map helped me
Since I discovered the book, I have been a Desire Map evangelist. As a Desire Map facilitator, I offer Desire Map workshops and coaching to women going through a transition or wanting to make a change.
I wish I had found The Desire Map before suffering from burn out and going through a mid-life transition.
For many years, I was a “human doing” instead of a human being. I would set goals for myself, but I was often too busy to stop and enjoy the fruits of my labors. Thus, the goals I was setting for myself were not making me happy. For example, I was a high achieving, Type A, perfectionist, non-profit professional trying to be as productive as possible. In addition, I was also a new mom dealing with reverse culture shock after living in Japan for eight years.
Feeling betwixt and between, I searched everywhere for a solution. During my search, I discovered The Desire Map. As I read, I had a major “aha” moment. I had often felt that the goal setting process was missing something. But, I couldn’t put my finger on it. The Desire Map taught me that feelings were the missing piece of the puzzle.
I used The Desire Map to help me pivot and find renewed purpose. The book has had a huge positive impact on my life and the lives of many others. In fact, the book has sold over 125,000 copies and is in print in multiple languages.
